January 17 Ventano, 191 Arroyo Grande, Henderson. The 2007 President, Sue Milliken presided along with the 2006 President, Marlene Baker. The gavel was presented to Sue Milliken. Certificates of appreciation were presented to those that had contributed their time and energy to Desert Newcomers.
February 21 STEAK 76 West Horizon Ridge, Henderson A columnist from the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Nevada's Largest Newspaper.  Can you guess who it was?  It was entertaining and informative.  The newspaper is a great way for "new" Newcomers to become acquainted with life in Henderson and Las Vegas.
March 21 Half  Shell, 30 East Horizon Ridge Parkway Jason Feinberg, News Anchor and Reporter on KVVU-Fox5 "Live In Las Vegas" morning show weekdays from 7-9 am.  Jason has worked for E! News in Los Angeles.  He also has received 5 Emmy nominations and several AP awards for his news reporting.  http://www.jasonfeinberg.net/

Coldwater Creek from The District presented their Spring Line at our Spring Fashion Show. As a special treat, the models were Desert Newcomers Past Presidents!
May 16 Fiesta Casino-Hotel, 777 West Lake Mead Pkwy, Henderson. 558-7000 Annual Members Hat Luncheon. A time to wear a homemade, one-of-a-kind hat or a store bought hat. You do not have to wear a hat to attend but there are prizes for hat wearers!

Jane Ann Morrison, Las Vegas Review Journal columnist.  She has worked in newspapers since 1971.  In 1973, while working at the Southwest Times Record in Arkansas, she covered a university professor running for Congress named Bill Clinton. She started working as the RJ in 1976 as a feature writer, then became the federal court reporter, then the gaming reporter and in 19990 the political reporter.  In 2003, she became the first female general interest columnist for the RJ.  Her column appears Monday, Thursday and Saturday on the front paged of the Nevada section of the RJ.

November 14 Gold Coast, 4000 West Flamingo Road, Las Vegas (702) 367-7111 Annual Holiday Bazaar.  Club members sold homemade crafts or offered services or other products.
December 19  Buckman's at Revere Golf Club 2600 Hampton Rd. Henderson 617-5707 The Luncheon was a festive event held at Buchman’s Revere
Golf Club with about 90 women. Entertainment was provided
by Marilyn Monroe & Frank Sinatra (impersonators). A surprise
was had by all when Marilyn sang a special happy birthday tribute
to Shelia Drayster (her mom in real life). Each member donated
an unwrapped gift for ‘toys for tots’ that was collected by the Marine’s.
The table centerpieces were painted wooden snowmen &
nutcracker statues that were awarded during the door prize raffle.
